Fork & Film Family Night 2026

A Night of Connection, Community, and Support

Our recent Fork & Film Family Night was a powerful reminder of what happens when community comes together with intention.

Families, caregivers, partners, and community members gathered for an evening centered on connection—sharing a meal, enjoying a film, and building relationships with the people and organizations who support children and families across Central South Dakota.

It was more than an event.
It was a space where families felt welcomed, supported, and seen.

Moments like these reflect the heart of Sotera’s work. Bringing people together in meaningful, supportive ways.

The evening included:

• A shared meal prepared and served with care
• A family-friendly film experience
• Opportunities for connection with local partner organizations
• Support resources for foster, kinship, and community families
• Thoughtful touches designed to make every family feel valued

From the first arrivals to the final goodbyes, the energy in the room made it clear: This is something our community needs more of.

This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of our partners and sponsors.

Your presence, generosity, and commitment to families helped create an experience that went far beyond a single evening.

We are grateful to our community partners:

Sponsors and Supporters: Because of you, families experienced connection, support, and a sense of belonging.

Stay Connected

Looking Ahead

Because this event was so well-received, Sotera is excited to continue building on this momentum.

Fork & Film is not just a one-time event. It is part of a growing effort to create accessible, welcoming spaces for families across our region.

We are actively exploring opportunities to:

• Host future Fork & Film events in Pierre
• Expand into additional communities across Central South Dakota
• Increase access to family-centered support and connection opportunities
• Strengthen partnerships with local organizations and providers

This event affirmed what we already believed. When support is local, relational, and community-driven, families show up.
